On Monday 30 April 2012 Royal Mail are increasing their postage rates quite significantly. For first class postage, the rates are set to increase by some 30%. Unfortunately this will have an impact on the postage charges that we pass on to our customers, though we will continue to charge for delivery based on actual cost.
Previously, we only offered first class recorded postage on Mountain Lions, but with the level of increase proposed for first class postage we felt it necessary to introduce a choice in postage services to meet your requirements. The option to select the delivery service you want is now available on our order form, so if you want it tomorrow you can select the Special Delivery service, or if you’re happy to wait a couple of extra days you can go for the 2nd class service. We’ve also added in our rates for international delivery, so for those of you from outside the UK, you can see the shipping cost before you order. Regardless of the postal service selected it won’t affect the speed with which we post things, which is within one working day of cleared payment.
There is some good news though. Despite the increase in cost for smaller items, the cost of sending larger items, such as frame bags, has actually improved so we can continue to send these items out fully insured on a next day service without such an excessive cost.
