Postage Costs – April 2013

If you haven’t already picked up on this in the news, Royal Mail have today introduced a new pricing structure for parcels. No longer is it based simply on weight – there are now three size categories: small, medium and large. This is apparently based on how big a parcel the Postie can get into his bag, and if it’s thicker than 8cm, it’s too big to fit and must be classified as a medium parcel, which costs more to deliver.

The upshot is that postage rates for the Mountain Lion will increase a little, and the Tiger – because it’s thicker than 8cm when packed – will increase a lot. Orders for both a Mountain Lion and a Tiger together won’t be any more than a Tiger on its own.
